Move for Hunger Program
When many people move or relocate, they often throw away unwanted or unneeded items. Unfortunately, these items usually include non-perishable food that could be delivered to families in need.
Also, despite improvements in some areas of our economy, there are still many families that in need.
That’s why our team at Desert Moving & Storage is a proud participant in the Move for Hunger program.
Move for Hunger is a hunger relief organization that works with moving and relocation companies to collect non-perishable food items and deliver them to food banks all across North America.
The organization currently works with 600 moving and relocation companies in 47 U.S. States and across Canada. To date, Move for Hunger has delivered more than 4 million meals to food banks in North America!
At Desert Moving Company & Storage, we work with the Move for Hunger program to provide hunger relief through the Fact: FIND Food Bank in our home area of the Coachella Valley in Southern California.
Our team regularly works to collect and deliver food to the FIND Food Bank, which serves approximately 80,000 people per month. And 47% of those receiving assistance are children.
We encourage our clients to set aside any unwanted, non-perishable food items when preparing for your move, and our team will arrange to pick up your food for delivery and donation to the FIND Food Bank.
